Sounds like the half pleasurable, half life interrupting annoyance of a drill weekend. My last year of The Corps was spent as permanent party doing CAX and drills at 29 Palms. I loved it!
A lot of people in the reserves/guard are exceptional warriors. Enjoy, hope you brought your own java, brother.
Although Jet Boil does have that sweet coffee set-up, I'm not a fan of a proprietary fuel source... I want one that'll run off of just about anything liquid and flammable.

A couple cans of Starbucks Double-shots, just to kick start the day. I need to invest in a multi-fuel backpacking stove though.
