It is a nice looking little gun-
Good clean markings too-
The first shot out of the little gun smacked dead on point-of-aim, not too shabby considering the mediocre sights.
The single-action pull is incredibly light, and the solid connection between the barrel and the frame make for real tack-driver potential. The double-action is a little on the heavy side still, but more manageable with the reduced hammer spring than it was "new."
The only problem I've had so far is that it's not to friendly to big hands.
I did have a nice little red mark after 50 rounds from getting pinched under the hammer...
Possibly hitting up a show tomorrow, and if so, snagging a case of 9x18 hopefully.

Any comment on suitability as a carry piece?

Honestly, I use this ammo for EVERYTHING. Both carry(even though I don't care the P64 much anymore, now that I have an LC9) and target practice.

One of the biggest drives for me of getting this piece is for carry duty in warmer weather or clothes that won't let me hide the M&P9.
So far, the only things I don't like about it are the mediocre sights, magazine release location, and the slide mounted safety that's backwards from my 1911's or M&P's (up for fire on the P64.)
Otherwise, 9x18mak is a step-up from .380 in terms of power, so that's a definite plus. I'm still contemplating an LCP, however, since there are a couple laser options to help with the poor sights that you tend to get on a small gun like this.
I've used that ammo in my CZ-82 with zero issue. Need to pick some up for this one, only ran FMJ through it so far. Hopefully I'll get some at the show tomorrow.
Looks like a nice little gun! Is it as snappy as a Mak?
My only experience with an actual Makarov is one chambered in .380acp, so I don't think it's a fair comparison. Plus it's been a while since I've shot it. May have to do some side-by-sides.
