MHI-Nemesis

Little reminder - the newest Monster Hunter Book is out!

I got the eARC a few months back, and let me tell you, this is possibly the best MHI book yet.

(Note- I do get a cut of every Amazon purchase made through the links on this page, and greatly appreciate it. It costs you nothing and helps me out greatly.)

MHIEH&BRPG

Er, Monster Hunter International Employee Handbook and Role Playing Game is up on Amazon.  Having had my copy for a little over a month, I can say it's well worth it for the fluff as well as the actual game part. Some cool background in there.

Terms of Enlistment

If you've got a Kindle, and somehow haven't heard about Marko's book, Terms of Enlistment, you really should go and get it.  I finished it in just a couple sittings, and it's not a short book, just a fast paced read.  Plus it's apparently angered some people due dangly bits and a lack-there-of.

Well... Thankfully I Have a Kindle...

I asked Mandafern if she could swing into the local book store and pick up the newest issue of SWAT Magazine to send over to me, and I guess they no longer carry it, nor any other "hunting or firearms related publications" because they "encourage violence."

I guess I'll no longer be supporting their business.  Kinda sucks, since it was less than a mile from the house. Hopefully the other book store across town has it, otherwise I'll be forced to stop supporting my local businesses (who obviously know what's good for me better than I do) and finally get a subscription.

MHIEHBRPG Kickstarter is Live!

That's the Monster Hunter International Employee's Handbook and Roll Playing Game is live on Kickstarter.  Some of the mid-level packages are going fast!  I couldn't resist the patch, but really wish I could have shelled out the $500 for red-shirting.  Oh well, some day I'll achieve that.

Anyway, go support the Awesome!!

Monster (Hunter) Deal

The new three book Monster Hunter collection is available from Baen in e-reader form for a whole $6.  I'd been putting off getting them for my new Kindle and glad I did (I've already got two paper copies of each book... a signed one, and a "loaner" copy.)

Amazon

Whenever you guys click an Amazon link on here, and buy something, I get a cut of the profits.  True to past experience, December is usually my big sales month, and this year is no exception.

This is awesome, and I thank you guys immensely.  I found out recently that I've been selected for a one-year deployment starting next summer, and despite my strong preference towards printed books, I think it'll be better to break down and pick up a Kindle Touch in the not-so-distant future and load it up with books, rather than ending up shipping a footlocker full of paperbacks around the world.  So far you guys have ordered enough stuff to cover a little over half the cost in kick-backs from Amazon.

(Don't worry Larry, I'll still be getting hard-copies of all your future books.  I've got an autographed copy of everything so far, would hate to have an incomplete collection!)

The Hobbit

First official trailer is out-

I've always like The Hobbit more than the trilogy.  It seems more "story" and less "history text."

It could be that I grew up watching the classic animated one, but I'm really happy to see it coming back to the big screen.

Dead Six

Collaborations can be hard to organize and get the proper flow down, but Mike and Larry got it down well in this one.  I finished it late last week, and was pretty sad to find it was done.  Well worth the read, and I'll probably reread it down the road a couple times at least.

Dead Six is Available

It officially hits shelves today!

Co-written by Larry Correia (of Monster Hunter fame) and Mike Kupari (an EOD Tech currently serving in Afghanistan, and a Yooper to boot.)  Larry's asking for help in boosting sales to kick this one up to best seller status, especially since Mike is a bit busy and unable to help push sales of his first novel.

Hooray!!

"Your order of Dead Six has shipped."

The non-stop flight from WI to CA will now suck a bit less.

MHI Patch Contest!

Take Two.

I was half tempted not to mention it, just to increase my chances, but that's just asking for bad karma or something.

Speaking of Books

"Spellbound", the second book of the Grimnior Chronicles, is available as an eARC for you 21st Century electric book peoples.

Shameless Book Suggestions

Tam started reading a new book, and I agree with her roomie.  The only times I've been let down by Gaiman are a couple short stories, and the bulk of those books made up for it.  That being said, American Gods is one of my all-time favorite books, and I recently snagged a copy of the 10th Anniversary Edition, purely because it's a gorgeous book.  Neverwhere is also one of the greatest things I've ever read (a few times.)

(I say these are shameless plugs, seeing as if you guys click one of those Amazon links and actually buy something, I get a cut of the action.  And I thank you for it.)
