I sincerely doubt that the XD single-stack 9mm will be competitive.
Undoubtedly it will be based on the .40. So it will be the same width as the .40 when it could have been smaller. This is the same issue that Kahr's have. And it's not like the Croatians have been making thin pistols anyway, the XD is much thicker-feeling than a Glock or S&W.
Ruger got it right when they made the LC9 9mm *only*. It was never designed to handle .40 and it shows.
If anything, this is good because it will spur S&W to tackle this segment of the market. I mean, it was just last year that they got into the plastic .380 market.
Pretty much. Leave the boutique guns to Taurus and Mossberg. I haven't even heard anything about the Governor after SHOT last year, and the announcement that it was availiable a couple months later...

I was fully expecting them to do it last year, but instead we got the Governor...
Just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
It saddens me that S&W will pander to that customer base, but not to those of us who repeatedly cry "10mm M&P!" or "single stack!"
