Seriously...?

I guess since most police departments and the majority of military guys have all jumped on the carbine bandwagon, we can just go ahead and stop taking Shotguns seriously.

In my opinion, if you're using MW2/3 or whatever for your marketing inspiration, you're doing something wrong (that goes for you too, Eotech... you're making me embarassed to have your sight on my gun.)

I have a mil-spec Mossberg 500 riot shotgun that I purchased back in 1981. Its my home defense firearm, but for concealed carry my HK Compact .45 USP or the Gock 19 are more practical choices for me.

I, too, own two CAR15's with an HK91. I choose to embrace diversity.

Nothing wrong with diversity, but buying something simply because it was "awesome in MW2"(and the game designers even admitted the game mechanics with that gun were broken) is just... wrong...

I love my Mossy 590 to death, but yeah I'm not impressed with shotguns. I think I could do an assload more damage with a pistol carbine (9x19 cumming out of a carbine barrel is vastly more powerful than any single #00 or #000 buck pellet, and its so much more controllable in a carbine that you can land a ton of shots quickly)

And I simply prefer a rifle.

MSRP of $1200+?

Look: I'll not lie. When the Chicoms started exporting 1887 clones, I came this close to buying one and doing this to it just because of Terminator 2...

At least the 1887 isn't useless. It's a proven design and has a stock, plus it can accept a massive bayonet. Not to mention it's approved for Cowboy Action Shooting, so it's far from useless.

I may be a little biased towards that particular shotgun though, it's been on my list of wants ever since using an original a few years back.

No, I mean I was going to take the 1887 and remove the stock because it looked cool in T2.

The gun's sole tactical niche in my home-defense EDC bugout battery would have been to look cool, and occasionally be dumb fun at the range. It would have filled the niche every bit as admirably as the Chiappa 1887 and for less than half the price, gunsmithing included. ;)

My mind was reading 1897, not 1887...

I think the biggest thing in my mind is that they're openly admitting they want to cash in on MW2.
