So here's the challenge:
I need a holster for the Smith & Wesson M&P9 (full size) with a Streamlight TLR-1s, with some sort of retention (thumb break preferred) and preferably with a paddle-type attachment, or some other way to remove the holster without dropping my pants. As I live in Wisconsin, concealment is not a concern at this point. Material and color is secondary at this point, but brown or tan leather or kydex would be great.
I was looking at Blade-Tech's options, but it looks like the only light bearing holster they have for the M&P is with the no longer made Surefire X200 (which cost more than I want to spend on a white light anyway...) They do make one for my gun/light combo, but no retention.
Any suggestions?

call them... they can do customs if you're willing to wait. Otherwise check the safarilad 6280, the x200/x300 compatible model should fit the tlr-1 (at least this was the case with a steyr m9a1 with a tlr-1
I made an OWB clipped holster for a Sigma recently. There's absolutely no reason I couldn't make one like it to accomodate your light. I haven't done much in the way of retention straps, but I don't see that to be an issue either. Let me know what you think once you've looked at the example holster at the following link. Thanks! http://www.theholstersite.com/?p=313
If you can wait, Raven Concealment makes a kydex gun/light holster that's gotten good reviews. However, to my knowledge, they've been very backed up since the Magpul Dynamic Handgun DVDs came out.

Quite familiar with the RC stuff, I have a Phantom for my Sig 2022. Unfortunately they don't have any retention other than gravity, and their "paddle" option quite frankly sucks. Uncomfortable, and prone to breakage.
Many holsters that take an M3 streamlight equipped pistol will also fit one with the TLR1 lights. Some that take the surefire lights will also. Best bet may to be to call the maker and ask.
