Need a New Belt

Alrighty Gun Bloggers and Bloggees, with the advent of CCW in Wisconsin, I find my self in need of a new belt. My long time standby of the free kydex lined 5.11 had said kydex liner crack right at the holes behind the buckle, so it looks bad and is a pain to buckle.

I have a strong preference for something black and leathery, as my current holsters for the M&P9 are black.

Any suggestions/preferences for places to check out?  My wheelbarrow of cash is still in the mail, so that's always a consideration.

I carry a small & light LC9 AIWB most days, which works with pretty much any 1.5" belt. But for carrying the M&P9 at 3-4 o'clock, I've got a Hellweg dress gun belt. It's a lot stiffer than any of my other leather belts, and also significantly thicker.

It's listed at $80.40, but you can get it for $56.28. How? Mil/LEO discount, that's how. When you sign up for an account, they'll ask you if you're LEO or military. You'll then have to either email or fax them a copy of one of your ID's... Some stuff (like that belt) has a pretty steep discount, other stuff not so much. Not that I'm complaining!

This is what the belt looks like with a holster made by one of the Iowa Firearms Coalition members.

I recommend the EvylRobot (Michael Hast) belt. Michael sells them at

www.theholstersite.com

They aren't expensive and they are pretty. All leathery and stuff. He made a brown one for my friend and had it in her hands quickly.

Michael's are high on the list of probables. I've heard good stuff.

I recommend Comp-Tac. My husband and I both use their kydex reinforced belts and have had no issues with them. Love them.

I've had good experience with the Beltman, having used one of his belts to CCW just about every day for the past few years. Reasonably priced as well.

I really like my belt from Ted Blocker Holsters.

I've been wearing mine for several (more than 5) years, and it's holding up well.

I have a Wilderness 5 stitch instructor belt. It's black, but not leathery. I love it though. It's stiff and has proven to be durable with daily wear for a year. They make a polymer lined one as well if you feel like you need at stiffer belt, but I could only see the need for that if you have abnormal large waist or are carrying a very heavy gun OWB. The microadjustability is awesome, as is the price. I didn't want to follow their sizing instructions because it ended up being a different size than every other belt I've had, but it turned out they were right.

I'm with Jesse. Of course, The Wilderness is a 15 minute drive from me!

I hate to sound like I'm bragging, but you're really not going to find a belt any better than The Best Belt, my double-slab leather belt with a nylon-reinforced core. Frankly, I need to raise my pricing as you can't touch a competitive product for the price I'm asking. Although I have been selling them on TheHolsterSite.com, I just went live with the new website (still in progress), TheBelstBelt.com. I'd love to have your business if you'd give it to me.

Michael, I'll admit, yours is way up on the list of probability. You've probably got the best combo of what I'm looking for and at a price that's reasonable for a belt (I'm a cheap bastard at times.)

I'll be watching the new site.

I have the Wilderness 5 in black. Definitely want to follow their sizing instructions exactly though, or you will be returning it to get the next size bigger!
