Henry Rifles Mare's Leg

Don't know how this one slipped out unoticed, but Henry Repeating Arms is producing Mare's Leg type guns in .45 Colt and .22s/l/lr.

The .45 Colt gun sports a brass frame, and the .22 version is simply a trimmed down H001, however both sport a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver (a feature not normally present on the H001 rifle.)  The .45 version is a bit pricy (msrp $950) and the .22 is listed at $360.

I really dislike the current crop of Henry leverguns.

But maybe that's just me.

I like my little standard H001, it's a bit more enjoyable to shoot than my Win94 in .32spc...

I'd still rather have a Mare's Leg in .44mag myself, but it's nice to see a .22lr version out there.

I love my Henry Golden Boy, one of the most accurate, smoothest action, good looking lever action rifles out there. I got the bug for one of the Mares Legs and I just picked it up today. I LOVE it! Is it practical? Not so much. Is it fun...well made...smooth action...just plain cool? You better believe it! I loved westerns when I was coming up and now that I'm an old...uh, more senior gentleman...these rifles make me feel like a kid again! The .22 cal. is so great because you can take a box of federal bulk ammo and shoot all day long! The price is right also. I love the Henry Rifles!
