Got My Permission Slip!!

Long time coming to this state.

Conveniently, UPS dropped of a box with a Desantis Nemasis holster as I was snapping this very photo.

Unfortunately, I haven't shot the little J Frame, so I'm not carrying it yet.  I can, however, get started on that review of a custom leather IWB holster I've had around for a couple months now.

Still no sign of Dad's, despite being sent from the same post office on the same day.

Still, I'm like a freakin' kid at Christmas.

Downside... the pizza place downtown with really good floppy New York style pizza is now off limits... :-/

It's a shame... I was looking forward to some tonight until I got halfway to the door.

They will come around once the hysteria dies down...or get robbed by a criminal that ignores the sign.

Hopefully. They're the only "by the slice" worth it around here.

It's about time.

Talk to the store owners in uniform. Most people just need a little education. It's too bad those signs carry the force of law in WI, they don't in IA! Hope it stays that way!

Observations from the first week or so:

1) Nothing happens. Nobody notices the aura of self-protection or my sheepdog-essence. No little old ladies walking up, desperate to shake my hand for protecting herseff and her kin from the desperadoes.

2) Haven't noticed the weight of my 1911 in OWB in the least.

3) Summer carry will be difficult.

4) GFSZ SUCK. PITA. Doom-on-them that write such laws. (On the other hand, even with the penumbra of Beslan stretched across the land, legislators are admitting there's really no genuine martial threat from the Islamolatino-peril. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to leave hundreds of planned and wanted chillls utterly unprotected and vulnerable inside once-conquered, easily-defensible prisons.)

Given the massive PITA the magic-school-bubbles were before when OCing, this is a breath of fresh air. The only way I can see it being a problem if you have your permit is if you work at a school or have school age children.

Based on your # and my #, they issued about 5000 permits in the five intervening between our issue dates (14th through 18th, inclusive, a full work week).
