This would be excellent practice. Long trigger, short sight radius, couple of cents per round.

Unfortunately S&W makes the 317 which is an 8-shot J-frame airweight.

This gun has a titanium cylinder which makes it very light, and twice the price of the Ruger...

Exactly. I can't justify paying twice as much for a sub-caliber trainer for the J-frame than I did for the 442 in the first place.
